It’s not too often I get the opportunity to share a mountain home infused with turquoise! Acorn Falls Cottage is a newly-renovated 1900’s historic vacation rental cottage nestled in the woods, yet close to downtown Highlands, North Carolina. It was designed by Missy Woolf (the talent behind The Salty Mermaid Cottage, one of my favorite homes on Tybee Island!) I love that she kept much of the original charm of the cottage while giving it a fresh, updated look with rustic luxe furnishings, fabulous local artwork, and fun colorful fabric…not to mention plenty of turquoise to go around! And these photographs by Sarah Ingram capture everything so beautifully!

Oh how I’d love to enjoy my morning coffee on this porch! Love the porch swing from Ballard Design. The porch rockers from Grandin Road below are great too! (I’ll include a lot more sources at the bottom of the post.)

Loving this custom-made sign by AR Workshop!

The door painted Benjamin Moore’s Dark Harbor CSP-720 is a taste of what’s to come…

My favorite thing in the living room is the barn artwork by Atlanta-based artist Lindsey P. Emery. Actually all of the artwork throughout the home is fantastic. Each piece was commissioned just for Acorn Falls Cottage! So much talent!

No typical white cabinets here, these beauties are also painted Benjamin Moore’s Dark Harbor CSP-720.

The custom-made reclaimed wood island was built by Rhett Smith of RS Custom Furnishings. The pendants from Hinkley Lighting are fab too!

Some rustic details and another great barn artwork by Lindsey P. Emery.

The master bedroom might be my favorite space in the cottage. So much to drool over…the bedding, the chandelier, the artwork–especially the incredible painting by Savannah-based artist Bellamy Murphy!

I also adore this colorful painting by Elaine Burge.

The gorgeous turquoise chandelier from Ballard Designs is such a showstopper!

Beautiful landscape painting by Fred Cox Fine Art.

Who wouldn’t want to be a guest in this cozy bedroom? The pillow covered in Madcap Cottage’s Windsor Park adds a touch of whimsy to the bed.

Yet another stunning piece by Elaine Burge. Love those colors!

The 2nd guest bedroom has the most adorable beds from Ballard Designs. Notice the carved bird detail!

The rolling hills on the pillow pair perfectly with the artwork by Fred Cox.

The guest bathroom is filled with charm. There’s something about old doorknobs that get me every time.

Artist Lindsey P. Emery created both the bear art and barn art just for this cottage.

The outside of Acorn Falls Cottage is magical! Relaxing on one of the hanging chairs from Serena & Lily with a good book would be the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

And nothing beats a campfire on a chilly evening!
